RE: Fishing

The petition that I referred to was geared toward Senior Citizens over 62 yrs of age. Surely some must think that at some age you have paid your fair share of fees and taxes, I have no children in school but I pay the same as others. JMO... You may have paid your fair share in the state you live in, but as mentioned, you license money goes toward support that state fishing. If you don't want to pay for a license you are probably are not all that serious of a fishing person. And being you brought it up, we all benifit from education weather they are your kids or some one elses.

RE: Fishing

I hate to get in these debate but you either misread or mis understood the artical. Quote, Any resident fishing in the county of his or her residence with live or natural bait, using poles or hand lines without a reel or other line retrieval mechanism (cane pole), for noncommercial purposes. This dose not apply to what we where discussing here.

RE: Fishing

Most states will let you fish without a license with a cane pole. BobI don't beleive this to be true. I fish in a lot of differant states and have never found this to be true. To name a few that this don't apply, Fl.,Al. Utah, Col, Nev, Az,Il, Oh,and Alaska. The money that you spend on a fishing license goes back into the sport, so why do some of you object to it so much??

RE: Fishing

Not sure I understand what you are getting at. You BUY the proper permit or take a chance of being fined.

RE: Running from Fay or staying put?

The 4 or 5 times that I have been down there when a hurrican hit, I would leave if ask to evacuate. If you are ask to leave and you don't , I can see where the insurance company may not have to pay if you had damage.

RE: Taking two truck spaces at Flying J

Truck stops were never meant as a camp ground. If you have to have your slides out you belong in a campground.

RE: Walmart

Yep, it's them darn truckers again. Just who do you think that should support the FREE CAMP SITES you want. Maybe you could go around to the local business for donations.Or maybe the folks that use them mighyt support them. Oh that's right they want a free ride.

RE: Easiest way to locate monthly rates on CG's?

The only ones that are normally advertise their monthly rate are the parks that cater to snow birds. We tend to stay in small parks the rest of the year and never have a problem finding monthly rates. Right now we are stay at 6000 ft between 2 mountain ranges for $400 amonth full hookup .

RE: Should they be towing a Camper

May be we could solve problems like this by writing our congressman, asking for a law to force us to go through the scales and DOT inspections. I'm sure that would do a lot of good.

RE: Is This Legal In ANY State??

Why some of you persist in calling it triple towing is beyond me . To triple tow you must tow 3 vehicals. Every time this subject comes up we get some really mis imformed answner.

RE: Why SOOOOO Many Sex Offenders In Sioux Falls???

What in the world dose this have to do with full timing????Seems a little off base. If the number in Sioux Fall has you up set , how many full timers are or were offenders and no way to keep tracked of them. What a great way for them to hide.:S

RE: Next depression? Long read, Canadian columnist.

We are witnessing one of Americas problems. Many of us don't realize that there are others in this world and it is as much their world as it is ours. If we had listen to the rest of the world we wouldn't be in this dumb war that is bankrupting the country.

RE: What makes a RV Resort/Park nice.

Obviously some people have lost sight of what this thread was about and have blown it out of proportion. It was not a personal attack on anyone. And the condition of a rig in a park does affect others unless you don't mind looking at trash. I don't want to look at trash anywhere, not just RV parks. I have seen many comments in RV Park Reviews from people who gave a park a low rating due to trashy neglected rigs that ruined the appearance of the place. For the people who think it is okay to be trashy and just don't mind it, then I guess the saying "birds of a feather flock together" does apply. Excuse me,but you ask a question and some of us didn't agree with you , and answered you in a civil manner. No one said that they thought it was ok to be dirty or trashy. It was simply stated that we did not feel it was our place to change them. Now with your catty cliche, you want to imply that some of us are dirty and trashy. This is my personal feeling that I would rather camp next to a trashy site than a mean nasty vindictive person.

RE: R V storage

South Florida is a big area. Ft Myers area there are several. There is a new one in Cape Coral that is specifically designed for RVs. It is named Park 720 Vehicle Storage. Ph. 239-573-9990. They have open storage, covered storage, and fully enclosed storage. Each site has 30 amp service. Most of the storage areas that I know of are in conjuction with camp grounds or other storage. Personlly I think there will be a big shortage of storage this year because of fuel cost.

RE: What makes a RV Resort/Park nice.

No, I have never even ask for a refund. I have never been a park that was so bad that I felt I had to get out of before morning. I don't feel it is my mission in life to tell others how they should live. I don't have to sleep in their bed. Thanks for pointing out all those basic facts. I'm sorry that you are so troubled by the way others live, and I hope you have the good fortune never to have me for a neighbor.

RE: Will $6.00/gal stop you from full timing.

I think that will get us to stop. This year to drive from Ft Myers Fl to Utah cost $1400. With the increase it will probable take $1700 to get back to Florida. We have already cut our mileage from 8 or 9 thousand to about 6000. We have always made a practice of spending a month or more in a location. Do to a personal situation we have to spend the winters in Ft. Myers area. If I can't travel I might as well give it up. So after 13 years I think I will give it up.
